GAME DESIGN · IN DEVELOPMENTAM / 03

Command. Carry the consequences.

The campaign connects military operations, the industrial rear and the lives of people.

The campaign design puts you in command of an industrial and military sector. Each operation defines available troops, infrastructure, stocks, obligations and an immediate objective. Hold a position, deliver reinforcements, restore supply or withdraw your forces. The condition of your army and rear after an operation shapes the start of the next one.

A commander’s decisions

The first confrontation in development puts the player in command of the Soviet side against US forces controlled by General AI. The opponent has its own troops, production, supply and knowledge of the situation. You divide forces between combat, reserves and protecting the rear; your production programme supports the operation you choose.

01 /

Hold the line

Deliver ammunition and reinforcements in time, use cover and keep a route open to your forces. A lost crossing or convoy changes the situation at the front.

02 /

Choose when to strike

Commit the reserve now or preserve it for the next objective? A vehicle in the workshop, on a rail platform and in a combat unit offers different possibilities.

03 /

Preserve your forces

Continue fighting, organise a withdrawal or cover the recovery of damaged vehicles and people. Losses and consumed stock remain part of the result.

A world remains after the battle

A structure keeps its purpose and condition. A damaged road is not restored by the results screen. A lost vehicle changes your available forces, while a failed delivery leaves an obligation to those waiting for it.

01 /

Infrastructure

Bridges, routes and production facilities connect operations. Restoration joins the overall work plan and requires available people and materials.

02 /

People and vehicles

The pool of people is finite. Training, equipment, transport and medical care determine who can return to service and which tasks they can perform.

03 /

Resources over time

A long campaign makes remaining deposits matter. Extraction, deeper layers, damage and transport links become part of the territory’s history.

04 /

The next operation

A new order starts from the nodes and roads actually available. The campaign calendar connects construction, restoration and preparation.

Decisions have a human scale

Behind an order are a worker on shift, a convoy driver and a crew inside a hull. You set priorities; the story follows their consequences through the people carrying out the task.
